Scottish Bonnet (hats) have a long and interesting history. The modern day Balmoral

Scotch Bonnet Hat The Name   Scotch Bonnet
bonnet  dates back to at least the 16th century. Originally it was the ‘Blue Bonnet’, worn by Scottish Highland Regiments.

A soft wool knitted cap with a expansive flat crown in blue.

These Scottish bonnets were sometimes seen with a diced band and a colored toorie in the middle of the crown.

Today the crown is smaller made with a finer cloth usually of blue, black, or lovat green.
